Sir James Smith's School

Record of Achievement 2019

There were laughter, tears, presentations and good luck wishes galore at school at the leaver’s assembly as the Year 11 students bid their farewells.

The Year 11 students were attending their official farewell presentation afternoon, watched on by members of staff, friends and family. They were smartly and stylishly dressed for the occasion, during which they received their Records of Achievement from Head of House Ben Langton, Paul Boden, Annie Day and Wendy Ward.

Before the Records of Achievement were handed over, Head of Year, Paul Boden shared memories of the individual students with the audience, many of these anecdotes went as far back as Year 7!

A CD of pictures, stretching back to when the Year Group first stepped through the gates of Sir Jim’s, was shown at the end, this bringing both the laughter and the tears. These included photos of sporting events, school outings, lessons, memorable school events etc – all charting how the pupils had matured over the past five years.

Afterwards all attending were invited to stay behind and enjoy scones and clotted cream and other refreshments in the Learning Resource Centre.

The students were all wished well for the future, and for their up-coming GCSE exam results by Headteacher, Kristien Carrington.
