Well the SJS Retro Rocket team had a mainly successful day of testing on Saturday at Predannack Airfield down on the Lizard. Early time checks show the car (and team) are on the pace; reliability of our newly re built wiring and soft start system is good.

We had several new members (and parents) in attendance, all keen and working hard.

Several of our competitors returned to the pits on the recovery trailer due to breakdowns out on the track. With a good first session under our belt with good consistent lap times the team was in high spirits for a good second session but sadly it wasn't to be. Six laps in and running very well, Olly had to take to the infield to avoid a collision resulting in three flat tyres by the time he made it to the pits. On further inspection, every tyre was full of prickles. We hadn't factored off roading into the 2018 design so it was the end of the day for us.

On a positive note, we achieved several really good laps. Retro Rocket is working well and the drivers had got a good bit of experience on track. The South West regional heat will be held at Predannack in about a month, we will be ready for it.
